My favorite passage of scripture is 2nd Corinthians 5:20, which describes believers as ‘ambassadors for Christ’ and says that He makes an appeal to the world through us. These last couple of weeks have been a great reminder of that truth. The Lord brought together a group of almost thirty folks, of all ages, and He crafted us into a team. The Lord led us and our Romanian partners into a variety of settings where He opened the door for all sorts of ministries. Those who were musically gifted blessed others with their singing and playing. Some shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with children and youth in a variety of ways. Women, some of whom don’t naturally stand before others to speak to a crowd, shared scripture and their personal testimonies. Others of us prayed with people, publicly and privately, and we preached and taught the Bible. He put us face-to-face with others, from young to old, all created in His image and precious in His sight. He brought it all together and reminded us of that wonderful future we have that is described in Revelation 7:9 — people from all over and from every background, redeemed by Christ and honoring Him forever.

That’s what I enjoy the most about journeys like this one. We see that God has made us into a new family. And our new family has a new message. Together, we spend time with one another; we work together, and each of us, in our own way, joins in the appeal that Christ makes through us: “We implore you on behalf of Christ! Be reconciled to God!” We enjoy the work, and we look forward to one day seeing all that God has done.

Once again, it was great to be able to be a part of the team this year. The blessing was even greater since the entire family was able to be a part of it.
