It is a great pleasure to be able to participate in the work of the Lord. Others have summarized the journey better than I can, so I think it’s best to simply reflect a bit. Proverbs 16:9 says, “The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps” (NASB). I believe that is exactly what happened in our journey. We may not have been able to visit all the ministries we had anticipated, but we trust that where we went was exactly where the Lord wanted us to be. When I read what others have said, […]
Last night I have got a phone call on behalf of pastor John who joined the group in Tatarus. Among different issues discused I was overjoied to hear that the Lord used this year’s team in order to bless many people in that congregation. More than half of people were unconverted people and many confessed that the Lord spoke to them and searched their heart. Moreover after the meeting a lady who was attending that small village church shared with pastor John her decision to follow Jesus and confess her faith in baptism. We pray for more. Pastor John […]
One of my greatest joys in life is to see how God displays His glory in times I least expect it. Our journey to Romania this year has been amazing, to say the least. What we thought and planned for the trip completely changed.
We planned and believed that in spite of the corona virus, we would come and share Jesus and His love with the people of Romania. We did get to do that one night, in a small village church. It was a great experience. But the trip was soon cut short by the announcement of the President.
Being my 5th year going to Romania, I start off these trips with less anxiety than I used to. However, going to the first village of the trip is always nerve-raking. It’s often hard, whether you’re a pastor or just a guest, to speak up in a church. One thing I have learned working in a church is that it is way too easy to think about who you’re speaking to and what they think of you instead of the God that you are speaking about. Sometimes when I pray aloud I wonder, am I REALLY speaking to God? […]
It started in March 2019, as we thanked the Lord for all He accomplished that year in the various villages, homes, churches, etc we were privileged to serve in. Throughout the rest of that year we each prayerfully went before the Lord asking if It was His will that we should return the next year.
March 2020 – the call came and we responded in faith. Lewis informed us if we felt uncomfortable participating this year – the year of the Coronavirus outbreak – that he would understand. A few reconsidered and stayed behind to care for health-compromised family members; […]
What a trip it has been so far! The Lord has been so good to us.
Lewis and I decided to return to Romania with the Foundation for Hope team this year, along with our 3 young children. Our last trip was in March 2015 when we were pregnant with our son James, now 4 years old. This was a big decision as we knew not only the logistics of flying across the world with little ones could be quite stressful and exhausting but we knew the ministry itself would be wearing as a family. Even after excitingly signing up […]
The second team came on Tuesday night, and we just all settled in. On Wednesday we sorted supplies and went to a village that night to Pastor John church. We didn’t know it will only be 24 hours when we leave and flee Romania. Day by day we had to change our plans because of the Coronavirus and meetings were getting restricted to less than 100 people. Church services were getting cancelled. Some of us stayed up to see what will happen on Wednesday night. It was 2am when My dad came up and told us we would be […]
it was a great trip over.
We were rushed at London between flights but we made it after running through from terminal to terminal. When we arrived in Budapest we found out that our bags did not run as fast as we did.
No worries, they were delivered early this morning.
We spent the morning packing medicine bags in an “assembly line”.
We’re about to go out to a church service in one of the local villages in a bit. I’m really looking forward to seeing the countryside and experiencing God in a different language and service.
Lewis and the local pastors are […]
I heard from mom and dad that the first team arrived in Romania safe and sound. They are excited to be there and are looking forward to the rest of the team arriving early next week. It is going to be a great mission trip and God is going to do some amazing things.
I am looking forward to being in Romania again and ministering to the people there. I am blessed to have this opportunity to share the love of Christ. I am also honored to be able to do this with my family. Please keep us in your […]
I have been so challenged and encouraged by the words in Ephesians 3:20-21 that tell of my God’s ability to do whatever he pleases among men. It’s been an immeasurable blessing to visit Romania several times, and each time I have been amazed by God’s ability to transform hearts and lives. I once heard a man say, “The heart is a slippery thing! You can talk to the mind, convincing it of many things, but to talk to the heart? It is beyond the voice of man… it is the business of God.” Praise God He is in the […]
