In order to really understand the power of the moment, you have to understand that my son, Cole, wrestles a lot with worries. He has a lot of fears that creep in and he struggles sometimes to prayerfully remove them from his mind and heart. He started fearing the flights for this trip a couple months before we left. He had some sleepless nights worrying about plane crashes or getting lost somewhere, and we kept encouraging him to take his requests to his Father in heaven. One day, a few weeks before the trip, as I came down the driveway from work, Cole met me at my car. He said to me, “Dad, you know how I have been scared of flying to Romania? Well I thought about it and people hearing about Jesus is more important than me being afraid to fly, so I am not going to worry about that anymore.”

I was a very proud dad in that moment.  He, along with his siblings, have been a big blessing this year. They have found ways to serve and have enjoyed sorting supplies and visiting people in their homes and showing simple acts of love and kindness to people we come in contact with. It is a blessing to serve the Lord with family as well as with close friends.
