Thoughts from Saturday

By Laura Boyer

What a blessing it was today to see Christ praised and His Gospel lifted up, to see pastors and their wives encouraged in the Lord, and to see the team come together in the privilege of loving and serving these dear servants of Christ! I think my favorite moment of the day was talking with two gypsy pastors and their wives, when a Romanian pastor and his wife came over with huge smiles and embraced their brothers and sisters in Christ. The gypsies are outcasts, known for being ‘sinners’, yet here those who once would have judged […]

Conference for Pastors and their Wives

By Dustin Rogers

Wow, what a joy it was to be able to serve over 130 Pastors and wives on Saturday! The day was filled with collective worship to our God and fellowship around His Word. It is always a thrill to join the rich Romanian voices in songs of praise to our God. It never fails to cause me to reflect upon what it will be like to gather around the throne of God someday as One people from every tribe, tongue, and nation to heap songs of praise and worship to our great God and Redeemer! Moments like […]

For God’s Glory

By Pastor Bruce Goldsmith – Laurel Hill Baptist Church, Charlottesville, Va.

For those who have served the Lord on mission in other countries or even in the US, you will know and understand that God makes His glory known greatly. As we have been doing all we know to minister to the lives of the Romanian people it can seem somewhat overwhelming and often like the work is a drop in the bucket in reaching souls. However, I am reminded as I look into the eyes of orphans and those who are hurting so badly that in some way God […]

The First Two Days of Ministry!

By Dustin Rogers

Thanks so much for your prayers and words of encouragement!

On Wednesday we sorted lots of supplies, handled some administration, and then visited the Children’s Hospital of Oradea. We specifically visited the ward reserved for abandoned or disabled children. It is always a heart wrenching experience to be there. Yet, it is always heartening to remember that God is the “Father to the fatherless” and so we pray that according to His grace these children might have the opportunity to hear the gospel and experience the love of Christ.

Thursday was a full day of ministry in a gypsy village. […]

Safe Arrival!

The first wave of the team made it safely to Romania a few hours ago! Thankfully, the VA crew made it out just ahead of the weather system. The trip went really well. Though long and tiresome, the trip was totally stress free. We easily made all of our flights and passed through customs without a hitch. The only moment of concern was at the border of Romania when we were detained for about 20 minutes. We have all concluded that they were doing a thorough background check into Nathaniel Cook. Apparently the Duck Dynasty look hasn’t quite trended […]
